Horses as therapy

Horsemanship can provide valuable therapeutic experiences for adults and children with special needs. Activities and therapies incorporating horses engage sensory, neuromotor, and cognitive body systems, and benefit the person as a whole. In addition to writing for clinical publications that support adaptive horsemanship, I have spent over 7 years in leadership roles as a facilitator of therapy with the help of the horse. I am now working toward accreditation as a certified therapeutic riding instructor with PATH, Intl.
